Lloyd Leo Hines, aka Jack, was born 23 May 1911 in McDonough County, Illinois just east of the town of Plymouth.  He lived on a farm in Bethel Township near where his grandparents lived, before moving west into Lamoine township in the 1920s.  Jack attended school in the area, graduating from Plymouth High School in 1928.  In the 1930 census, at the age of 18, he is listed as a farm laborer, more than likely on his father's farm.  Ruth Evelyn Wallace was born 10 Apr 1913 in Fairfield, Iowa.  She lived in Fairfield as an infant, but upon her mother's death, she and her sister Lois went to live with their Aunt, Bertha Wallace, in Warren County, Illinois.  Ruth, nor her sister, appear in the 1920 census, but reportedly lived in Roseville Township at the time on a farm rented by their uncle, James Watson.  In the 1920s, they moved to Tompkins Township where the Watson homestead still remains, now the home of Roger and Pam Hines.  Ruth attended Nichols School, located west of Ponemah, IL and just a mile north of their home.  Jack moved to Warren County, where his brother Loren lived, in the 1930s, which is when he and Ruth met.  They would marry 15 Dec 1936 at the Liberty Chapel Parsonage in Ponemah, IL.  By 1940, Jack's parents moved to Warren County, while he and Ruth moved back to McDonough County to his father's farm.  They lived on the farm in McDonough County until about 1945, when they moved back to Warren County.  The first 4 of their 5 children were all born in McDonough County, the fourth, Richard Earl, dying when he was only 6 months old.  The family lived in various places throughout Warren County, where Jack continued to farm, before settling down on the old Watson homestead.  They would live there until 1975, when Jack retired and they moved to Roseville in a house at 420 South Hall Street.  Ruth during this time, was busied with raising the family, but would eventually become a nurse.  She worked for a time at Monmouth Community Hospital and later at the Roseville Nursing Home.  Jack passed away 11 Dec 1979 after suffering from Emphasema and Heart Disease for some time, and a heart attack 3 weeks prior to his death.  Ruth continued to live in Roseville until her death 11 Aug 1999.  Both are buried in the Warren County Memorial Park in Monmouth, Illinois.
