George Frederick and Anna Gertraut (Hein) Hahn

It does not appear that Frederich and Gertraut were ever official members of the Moravian Chuch, though the parents of each were, and there was at least an informal affiliation with the church in Friedland.  Other than Jacob, the names and births of the other four children are not confirmed, though the dates found in many online family trees point to possible references in unpublished records of the chuch.

Friedland Diary, 1786-  “June 6.  Gertraut Hahn passed away.  This evening the committee met to consider her burial, since while she lived she had begged a little place in our God’s Acre.  Out of pity the committee granted this.”  Records of the Moravians in North Carolina, Volume V: 1784-1792; page 2163.

Anna Gertraut Hahn is buried in Friedland Moravian Church Cemetery and was born 15 May 1753 in Dillenburg, Germany.  Son, Jacob Hahn, is also buried in Friedland with the dates provided below.  Graveyard Register of Friedland Moravian Church, Forsyth County, N.C.  Transcribed by Adelaide L. Fries, December 2, 1941.
